What is the SEI Framework?
In the movement to end human trafficking, the re-exploitation (undervaluing, undercompensating, and tokenizing) of those with lived experience, also known as Survivor Leaders, causes psychological harm and replicates power and control dynamics.
Through Dr. Powell’s research, the term “Survivor Equity and Inclusion” (SEI) was coined and the SEI Framework was developed to provide a organizational change approach to replacing re-exploitive behaviors with equity and inclusion for survivors in the anti-trafficking movement.
